Topic: DDR X & UBeat Location Tests!
Will the DDR X machine be a brand new dedicated cabinet or an older upgraded cabinet?
Topic: Dance Dance Revolution X (AC) Discussion.
I am hopeful that we'll get upgrade kits at all. It's been rumored that this game will only be released on dedicated cabinets.
I hope that we get more than just one testing location in the United States.
Topic: Why is Trim so broken?
I'm wondering what the hell the point of having a Groove Radar is when songs like Fascination Maxx, Trim, Sunrise (Jason Nevins Remix), Konoko no Nanatsu no Oiwaini, Pluto, Dead End (Groove Radar Special), Chaos, Murmur Twins, and others all have innacurate Groove Radar readouts because of their beats being offset.

So do I.
Topic: So.....eAmuse....
I'll save AgoraPerry some time and answer for him.
At this time, I am sorry to say that I have no further information to report regarding the status of e-AMUSEMENT in the US. As soon as any new updates surface, they will be reported on this site. Please know that Konami has been reading your requests for full implementation of the service and understands how badly you want it.
Topic: SN2 Unlock codes?
For those that didn't see the US SN2 page while it had the mysterious "future" update, see this: http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a284/tastylemonade/Untitled-1copy.jpg
So yes, apparently June 5th is the day that we get our next code. It's absolutely pathetic that we've had to wait this long.
Topic: Difficulty
I'm sure as hell not going to read through all 13 pages of this thread, but I will say this:
Some people like to argue for the addition of difficult songs often by saying that they won't remove the 6 - 10 songs that currently exist in the game, so anyone that doesn't care for 11+ songs can simply avoid them. I don't like this mindset because it ignores people that like to play DDR as a completionist. I had a lot of fun playing DDR Extreme and trying to complete it as far as I could, largely because PSMO was the most technically difficult song that that game had. When ITG came out and had loads of 11s, 12s, and 13s, I found myself needing to play all of that crap for score to really work on being the best player I could be, so I stopped.
DDRSN2 has a good amount of songs that would be at least an 11 on ITG's scale, and I don't like that, but they currently make up such a miniscule percentage of DDR's songlist that I can tolerate them as I try to play Expert/Challenge mode for score. With ITG, if you ignore everything on Expert above a 10, you're left with...not much. If DDR were to become like ITG and have a great deal of difficult songs, I probably would quit altogether.

All songs need Oni charts of at least 8 feet in difficulty.
Topic: DDR World Record Event - May 19th, 2008 - Nokia Theater
Crossposted from DDR Freak:
I've received word from Fox Broadcasting that they are planning on breaking the Guinness World Record for the most people playing DDR at a single time in one place to be entered in the Guinness Book of World Records: Gamer’s Edition. This event is to help promote the season premiere of “So You Think You Can Dance." On Monday, May 19th, 2008, we need people to gather at the Nokia Theater (across from the Staples Center in Downtown Los Angeles) to participate in this event. Registration for the event begins at 3:00pm. If you guys can make it down, please post here so I can follow up with the gentlemen over at Fox on how many people they can expect on our end. (Participants must be 18 years of age or older.) Please spread the word around because we all want this to be as successful an event as possible.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Topic: Maybe we don't need e-Amuse this time...
I'm very happy to see that no matter what, SuperNOVA 2 machines will be able to see unlockable content. I'm still interested in seeing e-AMUSEMENT make a widespread splash in America, but at the very least, the most important thing that e-AMUSEMENT brings (unlockable songs) is finally coming for sure.
However, I have to wonder why it took so long to release this code, or at the very least, confirm that unlock codes were programmed into the game. If we had known from the start that we would see unlock codes at some point, it would have given us a lot of reassurance that one way or the other, we WOULD see the content that we so strongly desired. Oh well, what's done is done.
Topic: DDR National Tournament in the Works
For now I'm just going to second EvilDave219's comment that you should post what you want to see in a tournament here. Use this thread to share your tournament ideas and opinions.
Okay.
An official, Konami-organized Dance Dance Revolution national tournament has been something that I've wanted to see for years, and is something that I have been especially hoping for since the creation of this site.
So far, I've been very disappointed with the DDR-themed contests and events that have been advertised on this site. I have no interest in creating a new DDR character, nor do I have any interest in submitting music to be included in future DDR titles. I want to participate in DDR competitions that actually involve me playing DDR, not drawing pictures or composing music. So naturally, the breaking of the news of a possible DDR national tournament in the works is very exciting for me.
As I said in my last post, I felt that the system that Roxor used for their national In the Groove tournament in 2005 was perfect. I won't repeat my reasons in this post, but I would really hope to see Konami follow a path like that one, with local tournaments and regional tournaments all leading up to the big main event.
Another idea that I had was for the tournament to have multiple venues through e-Amusement. Having a set number of machines across the country that are made to participate in the tournament would make it a lot easier for some to attend. Obviously, if the tournament only takes place at one single venue in the USA, some simply won't be able to make it because of distance, travel fees, and other such responsibilities. Being able to play against your opponent online through e-Amusement would help to fix this. I think that this is a pretty long shot, though.
I think that my greatest fear is that this event won't happen at all. EvilDave says that it is a possibility, and the fact that nothing is concrete yet makes things pretty iffy. Now that the potential for a national tournament has been noted by Konami, I sincerely hope that they'll go through with it.
Topic: DDR National Tournament in the Works
It would be neat if Konami follows the same path as ITG's Nat Tournament.
Have Local Tournaments to see who can enter the Regional Tournaments and top Regional Players enter the final tournament to determine the winner.
I totally agree. I was really impressed with the way that Roxor planned out their first national tournament. There was a constant, gradual build-up towards the "main event." Local tournaments were planned and held initially, and Roxor provided prizes to them in addition to giving the winners access to the next stage, the regional tournaments. The top eight players from all of these regional tournaments then qualified for the final tournament in Las Vegas. The end result was about three or four months of build-up for the final event, with plenty of important events happening along the way to keep us from getting bored. It would be awesome to be able to relive that kind of stuff again, this time with DDR instead of ITG.
Unfortunately, I get the feeling that Konami will deviate from Roxor's method completely. I hope that someone like AgoraPerry can give us some information on what the plans are, or at the very least, let us submit some ideas in the "Konami Asks" subforum.
Topic: Official "needs more e-Amuse" topic
This lack of information is ridiculous. I was excited when e-Amusement was first announced for the US, but since then, we have all of ONE location that has it installed, and no word on if it'll ever get a widespread release.
Releasing SN2 without unlocks was bad. Keeping us in the dark regarding whether or not we'll ever be able to readily see them is even worse.
Topic: Thoughts on a PS3 DDR?
I would have no interest at all in a PS3 DDR game. I don't own a PS3, and I doubt that I'll own one for a very long time. I'm perfectly satisfied with playing annual releases on PS2. If Konami for whatever reason decides to abandon the PS2, then I think that the PS2 DDR series should move to the Wii. The PS3 is by far and away in last place in terms of total number of consoles sold, so moving the series to that platform would limit the number of available end users as much as possible.
Topic: So, assuming Konami actually does care enough to read this stuff...
I don't think that Konami will do anything. They seem perfectly content with giving us a crippled game with half of the content that we should be able to have, so I'll just play the locked half of DDR SuperNOVA 2 on an In the Groove machine.
Topic: So Konami, what are your plans for...
"let alone accept the fact that it had a bigger fan base and was doing better than ddr did at the time."
LOL
Topic: when you finish a song then you pas'd it but
