So yeah, all the other threads are dead/old to my knowledge, so let's start it up again!

What liscences would you want in DDR, and why would they be good, practical choices?

All I Ever Wanted - Basshunter
It's Vi si Ventilo WHATEVER DotA, but in English and better-produced (in my opinion at least). Basshunter is really getting popular all over the world online, but in reality he's just now starting to make a big splash in the US. Liscencing would probably be at the same level or less than Cascada.

The King of Limbo - (from LIMBO OF THE LOST)
Anyone expecting a huge final boss song could get this. You wouldn't even have to do anything, just copy/paste PARANOiA's charts and mod it so it fits musically. GET IT?!

Lost - Menudo
Fans of 1980's Pop Music will probably know Menudo, the very same band where Ricky Martin got his start.   This new iteration of Menudo has just released "Lost", and it's steadily climbing the charts in the US. It's very Maroon 5-ish - funky, breaky, dancey. It'd be America's response to Dancing Stage's "Hip To Hip", by V.

Never Gonna Give You Up - Rick Astley
Seriously. Or maybe not. I don't know.

Don't Sweat The Technique - Eric B. and Rakim
Trust me, you may not know it by name but YOU ALL KNOW THIS SONG. It's been everywhere and back. It'd also have some really neat step patterns. And seriously, if FLOW can get it, you guys can surely get it.

Korean Pop or Rock. Any at all.
Please?

There's a LOT of material to pick from that I'd love to see. Here's a few picks.

Pop:

Kylie Minogue: pretty much any song from Kylie is a welcome addition that will appeal to a broad audience. Kylie is perfect for DDR, and it pains me that so many great songs have been locked down forever in Dancing Stage games. Revive Can't Get You Out Of My Head and re-step it? Or try something new, like On A Night Like This or I Believe In You.

Goldfrapp: less mainstream but quirky and catchy, Goldfrapp is infectious. The two songs from SuperNOVA2 CS were great picks. I'd love to see more. Ride A White Horse? Satin Chic?

Just stick to the HOT DANCE AIRPLAY list and it will be fine.

Trance:

Land of Fantasy / Mainfield

We Call It Love (Pulsedriver Remix) / U96

Ecstasy / ATB

On and On / Yanou ft. Do

Innocente (Lost Witness Mix) / Delerium ft. Leigh Nash of Sixpence None The Richer

Anything from Oceanlab.

Many of these artists/labels have been licensed by KONAMI before, and they're all great dance tracks that remind me of the old Dancemania days, where we had awesome stuff from LANGE and COSMIC GATE.

K-Pop (As tragically unlikely as it is):

Shadow / Harisu

Tell Me / 원더걸스 (Wonder Girls)

눈물 (Noon Mool) / Baby V.O.X.

And, as much as she's hated, she's popular for a reason: BoA

As I posted in other forums, I'd like to see Kylie's most recent singles (from her 9th studio album: "X")

IBIY is a good option, too. It was released in America, Europe, Japan - would be easily included in DDR and/or DS-

Goodbye (^^)v

Here are some I think would be good:

 Techno/Trance/Electronica etc:

Basshunter - I Can Walk On Water, I Can Fly: This song could potentially have a good 8 or 9 foot chart if put in a DDR game. It's got a really good beat, and you could plenty of 8ths and 16ths in it.

Basshunter - Boten Anna: Would be good with a Burning Heat style chart.

Natalie Browne - Marvelous (Definitive Mix): A great mellow song. It would go great with a mid-range or hard 7 foot chart.

Wildside - A Thousand Miles (Speedo Mix): A good speedy song. Would go great with a Seduction Vocal Remix style chart.

Rock:

Metro Station - Kelsey:  This song could be a fun 6 or 7 footer.

Saosin - Collapse: Again, this song is by a band that a lot of scene kids like, but it has good potential for a mid-range 9 footer if they put 16ths that follow the dums.

Jimmy Eat World - Big Casino: This song would be a good 8 footer.

Shiny Toy Guns - Chemistry of a Car Crash: This song would be a good hard 7 footer with a stepchart like Jam Jam Reggae but with less jumps.

Don't put any English Basshunter songs in the game. None of his English lyrics work with his songs and they sound terrible.

His Swedish original songs are much better.

EDIT: I'll let you know right now if you put any of Basshunter's English songs in the game you will get everyone that is big into DDR to have no faith in Konami for such an idiotic move. Heads up.

Have you heard All I Ever Wanted yet? Seriously man, it really does DotA justice. It sounds way better produced, not as inhibited (i.e, much bouncier/happier), and on top of all of that, the lyrics flow with the song very well. Furthermore, compared to DotA, AIEW also has alot more step potential, in my opinion at least.

Why does everyone keep talking like they represent the entire community?

I think Justice would be good for DDR. All the songs from their new album are pretty danceable and they sound amazing.

It's time for dance.
