In a presentation entitled "Games & Reversing the Trend of Childhood Obesity" given at an RPI Game Symposium by Dr. Dwayne Proctor, Senior Program Officer of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, DanceDanceRevolution was shown as healthy game that appeals "to a wide range of kids".
